Air Europa, a Spanish full-service airline serving Europe and the Americas for nearly 40 years, has announced that it will introduce surcharges for bookings on the GDSs.
The airline has informed all travel agencies that the NDC channel is available, as well as a dedicated agent portal for both private and published fares, guidance and creation for customer-targeted & personalised offers, and managing existing orders.
The technical capability to deliver this distribution strategy is provided by Retailaer in partnership with PROS. The London-based Offer Order Management Systems provider together with Houston-based leading offer management provider to the airline industry, designed the solution to allow agents an intuitive interface with capabilities supporting targeted offers to the customers in question.

Air Europa is clear on the business benefit: "We expect a 10–15% shift from our agents to book with us directly via the Travel Agent tool by Retailaer to reduce cost on the core PSS and improve customer service. Our agents can do with orders literally whatever they want — add, remove, cancel ancillaries," says Casasnovas.
Around 4,500 agencies are expected to use the portal by July 1st, 2026, allowing Air Europa to maximise revenues, reduce cost, and gain distribution freedom.
